Municipal Law

Municipalities are the level of government that most directly affect their citizens.  They function as corporations, as well as regulating their residents.  The practice of municipal law demands particular knowledge of the issues in both these areas.

Our municipal law practice is the companion to our administrative law practice.  Our clients benefit from our expertise in both areas.

We act as general counsel to many Alberta municipalities.  We advise municipal tribunals, subdivision development appeal boards and assessment review boards.  We provide advice on a wide variety of issues, from bylaw drafting to subdivision and development matters; from corporate litigation to employment problems.  We act as counsel for various Subdivision and Development Appeal Boards and Assessment Review Boards (both local and composite).

We also represent individuals who need assistance in their dealings with municipalities.
