Zachary Gerard

Practice Description

Zachary practices in the areas of administrative law, municipal law, and professional regulation matters.

Background

Zachary was born and raised in Southwestern Ontario. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor in 2015. He was awarded the Law Society of Upper Canada / Osgoode Society Award of Excellence as one of Windsor Law’s top graduating students. Zachary was called to the Ontario bar in 2016 and Alberta bar in 2024. Before attending law school, Zach completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Language and Literature and History, with distinction, at the University of Windsor.

During law school, Zachary found a sense of purpose by using the law to advocate for low-income individuals while volunteering at a legal aid clinic, Community Legal Aid. Zachary volunteered at this clinic as a caseworker and litigator before working as a summer law student. In his final year of law school, Zachary worked as a group leader at the clinic where he supervised and assisted a number of students.

After law school, Zachary completed his articles at a small litigation boutique in Windsor, Ontario. As part of his practice in Ontario, he represented clients with respect to accident benefits claims arising from motor vehicle accidents. Zachary credits his experience of representing clients before a tribunal on accident benefits claim disputes as fostering his interest in administrative law.

In February 2024, Zachary joined Shores Jardine from a mid-sized litigation boutique in Alberta.
