Tracy completed her articles in July 2021. She practices in a wide variety of areas including administrative law, municipal law, employment law, and assists with professional regulatory matters.

Background

Tracy was born and raised in the Edmonton area. She completed both her undergraduate degree and law degree at the University of Alberta. Throughout law school, Tracy participated in competitive mooting representing the University of Alberta in Toronto and in Winnipeg for moots in Intellectual Property and Negotiations. She also volunteered with Student Legal Services.

Prior to law school, Tracy worked in marketing and business development. Her experiences taught her how to collaborate with her clients, focus on their expectations, and communicate effectively to meet their needs and ensure she is providing them with creative problem-solving solutions.

Tracy developed an interest in public law while attending law school. This interest was further fostered by a summer internship at a regulatory commission in Edmonton. Notably, she is interested in how administrative, municipal, employment and professional regulatory law has a considerable and tangible impact on the everyday lives of the public. She wants to assist others to ensure this integral intersection between the public and the law continues to be fair and balanced.

In her own words

Effective advocacy does not necessarily require confrontation. Although in some situations it may be required, resolution is often better achieved through other means such as effective communication, knowledge and understanding of the issues and subject matter, and integrity in dealing with others.

Away From the Office

In her spare time, Tracy enjoys cuddling with her three fur babies, playing board games, and travelling. To stay active, Tracy enjoys doing yoga and going for bike rides. She also signs up for a race each summer to try and justify calling herself a “runner”.
